2026 AFL Membership Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a 2026 AFL Membership, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Purchase of Membership

If you are successful in your AFL Membership application, you will receive immediate email confirmation if you sign up online. If you sign up on the phone, you will receive immediate confirmation by phone and/or email.

2. Term of Membership

Subject to the following, your AFL Membership benefits will be available to you from the date your AFL Membership barcodes are generated, which will occur within 48 hours of your first Membership payment, until 27 November 2026.

3. AFL Membership Entitlements

Your AFL Membership provides you with a range of benefits and entitlements, which include:

  • AFL Entitlements: Exclusive entitlements to AFL matches and other entertainment events held at Marvel Stadium, and AFL and Cricket matches held at the MCG, including access to purchase dining and entertainment packages (see further details at Clause 4 below).
  • Club Support Entitlements: AFL Gold and Silver Members are provided additional access to Club-specific membership entitlements, including access to their nominated Club’s AFL matches across Australia (see further details at Clause 5 below).

4. AFL Entitlements - Ticket and Match Access

As part of your 2026 AFL Membership, you will have access to AFL matches held at the MCG and Marvel Stadium during the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season (Premiership Season) and 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series (Finals Series), as well as Cricket matches at the MCG. Access is provided in accordance with the entitlements and conditions applicable to your Membership type, as set out in this Clause 4.

The MCG and Marvel Stadium have a designated area for AFL Members (AFL Members Area), which may vary depending on the event held at each venue. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact the AFL Membership Team at membership@afl.com.au or on 1300 722 515 and they will provide you with further guidance on how to make the most of your AFL Membership.

As outlined below, some Premiership Season matches will permit AFL Members to attend AFL matches at the MCG or Marvel Stadium via general admission (walk-up), in which case no additional fees will apply and you will be able to sit in the designated general admission area of the AFL Members Area.

Where AFL Members choose or are required to reserve tickets, they must pay any applicable fees and charges for the reserved seat. Ticketing agencies may also charge a booking fee, which is payable by the AFL Member.

Further information regarding AFL Member ticket and match access entitlements for the 2026 is set out below.

4.1 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season (Premiership Season):

Except where otherwise stated, all AFL Members will have access(1) to up to a total of forty (40) matches held at the MCG and Marvel Stadium throughout the Premiership Season.

Any Premiership Season match - including, for example, the ANZAC Day match - may be classified as a ‘Fully Ticketed Event’ by the AFL or participating AFL Clubs, at their discretion. In such cases, all AFL Members wishing to attend must obtain and pay for a reserved seat through the ticketing process facilitated by the AFL’s ticket agents (see Clause 6 for more information in relation to ticket agents).

For all other Premiership Season matches that are not classified as a Fully Ticketed Event, AFL Members may attend via General Admission (walk-up), subject to availability. AFL Members also have the option to reserve a seat in advance of the match.

Note: General admission areas at the MCG and Marvel Stadium accessible to AFL Members, when available, will be communicated to AFL Members in their online portal and at each venue. General admission areas are limited and may become exhausted on the day of the match. Therefore, the AFL strongly recommends that AFL Members reserve a seat in advance of the match to guarantee entry.

2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series: The AFL will determine, in its discretion, whether a Finals Series match will be classified as a Fully Ticketed Event. As described above, if a Finals Series match is classified as a Fully Ticketed Event, all AFL Members wishing to attend must obtain and pay for a reserved seat through the ticketing process facilitated by the AFL’s ticket agent.

4.2 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series Weeks 1 and 2:

Except where otherwise stated, all AFL Members will have access(2) to matches scheduled at the MCG and Marvel Stadium in Weeks 1 and 2 of the Finals Series. The AFL makes no representation or guarantees that there will be any match scheduled at the MCG or Marvel Stadium in either of Weeks 1 or 2 of the Finals Series. AFL Members will be provided with further information regarding the AFL Finals Series tickets in August 2026.

4.3 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series Week 3:

AFL Gold Members will have access(2) to all matches scheduled at the MCG and Marvel Stadium in Week 3 of the AFL Finals Series (and other AFL Venues, where the AFL Member’s club of support is playing at that particular AFL Venue).

Access(2) for AFL Silver and Bronze Members to matches scheduled at the MCG and Marvel Stadium during Week 3 of the AFL Finals Series will be determined by the AFL in its absolute discretion. By way of example only (and without limitation), this may include any of the following arrangements for Silver and Bronze Members: restrictions by seating level or area; later ticket sale times; or no access.

Note: The AFL may, in its absolute discretion, determine to allow AFL Members of any category to purchase Guest Passes during Week 3 of the AFL Finals Series.

4.4 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final:

Access to purchase tickets to the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final will be made available to AFL Members in the following order of priority:

  1. Priority Access(3) to AFL Gold Members who have nominated a club of support as part of their AFL Membership that is participating in the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final (Grand Final Team Club Support).
  2. Second Access(3) to AFL Gold Members who do not have a Grand Final Team Club Support (subject to tickets being available after the Priority Access period).
  3. Third Access(3) to AFL Silver Members who have a Grand Final Team Club Support (subject to tickets being available after the Second Access period).
  4. Fourth Access(3) to AFL Silver Members who do not have a Grand Final Team Club Support (subject to tickets being available after the Third Access period).

4.5 Cricket:

AFL Members will have access(4) to the 2026 International Cricket Test, Twenty20 and One Day International matches scheduled at the MCG (excluding Big Bash League matches). Tickets can be obtained only by reservation and are limited to one (1) ticket per AFL Member per match. Reservation fees apply. Additional guest passes may be purchased at the same price as tickets available to the public.

5. Club Support Entitlements

5.1 Club Support Nomination: Gold, Silver and Bronze AFL Members (Excluding Under 7s Members) may nominate an AFL Club of support as part of their AFL Membership application or renewal (Club Support Package). The AFL Member will be counted toward that Club’s total membership tally. The Club may, in its discretion, provide a membership fulfilment package to the AFL Member.

5.2 Access to Club Home Matches (Gold and Silver Members): A Club Support Package with either a Gold Membership or Silver Membership provides additional access entitlements to your Club’s home matches.

For example, an AFL Gold Member who has nominated the Adelaide Crows as their club of support may use their AFL Membership barcode to access tickets to Adelaide Crows matches at Adelaide Oval at the relevant “on-sale” time applicable to Adelaide Crows Members. Subject to availability, the AFL Gold Member may also be able to attend an Adelaide Crows home match via ‘walk-up’ entry by scanning their AFL Membership at an Adelaide Oval Entry Gate assigned for General Admission for Adelaide Members.

Your Club (or your Club’s home venue(s)) will determine seating requirements and may require you to reserve a seat at an additional cost (either seasonally through your Club of support or for individual matches through a nominated ticket agency). Further information in relation to venue access as part of the Club Support Package can be found here: https://am.ticketmaster.com/afl/Interstateaccess

5.3 Club Responsibilities: The AFL Member’s nominated Club of support is responsible for all ticketing matters and any membership fulfilment packages associated with the Club Support Package. Any questions, issues, or complaints relating to the Club Support Package - including ticketing entitlements or fulfilment packages - should be directed to the relevant Club’s customer service channels, or if related to ticketing, the relevant ticketing agent (see further details regarding ticketing agents at Clause 6 below).

5.4 Contact Details: Unless you advise otherwise in your Membership application or renewal, by nominating a club of support you are agreeing to your personal details being forwarded to your club of support so that it may contact you for club or commercial purposes, including fulfilment packs, upgrade products and Finals Series access. You may opt out of receiving your Club’s communications at any time.

5.5 Changing Club Support: AFL Members will not be able to change their nominated Club of support after 31 January 2026.

6. Ticketing Agencies

For AFL and Cricket Matches held at the MCG and Marvel Stadium, authorised ticketing agencies are engaged to facilitate the ticket sales process. The ticketing agencies are responsible for managing ticket allocations and sales for AFL and Cricket matches.

The AFL provides these agencies with information regarding on-sale times and AFL Member entitlements to ensure ticketing arrangements align with the privileges set out in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions or complaints regarding the ticket sale process, including ticket allocation, seat designation or accessibility requests and ticket refunds, should be directed to the relevant ticketing agency through its customer support channels.

Further information regarding questions or complaints in relation to your AFL Membership is provided at Clause 23 of these Terms and Conditions.

7. Compliance with Stadium Conditions of Entry

AFL Members must comply with the AFL’s Conditions of Entry for any AFL Venue, as well as any additional rules or restrictions imposed by the MCG, Marvel Stadium, or other AFL Venues. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of these AFL Membership Terms and Conditions and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of Membership.

Marvel Stadium and MCG Conditions of Entry can be viewed here:

8. Saving Seats in the AFL Members Area

AFL Members are not permitted to save seats for latecomers in the AFL Members Area. Venue personnel are authorised to remove items used to save seats. However, AFL Members must respect the temporary reservation of a seat should an AFL Member who has entered the AFL Venue wish to vacate their seat briefly.

9. Guest Passes

The AFL may make Guest Passes available for sale to AFL Members. Guest Passes will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out. AFL Members are advised to pre-purchase Guest Passes, particularly for high demand matches. Subject to availability, Guest Passes may be made available for sale at the gate on match day.

The AFL reserves the right to vary the number of Guest Passes available to each AFL Member at each AFL Venue as well as the total Guest Pass allocation. Once Guest Passes have been purchased, no refunds will apply except as required by law.

Guest Passes will not be available for the Collingwood v Essendon ANZAC Day match or the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

10. AFL Membership Cards

10. 1 Carrying Membership Cards or Photo Identification

AFL Members are required to carry their Membership (either as a physical membership card or digital pass) and photo identification when attending a match, including when a reserved seat has been pre-purchased.

10.2 Physical Membership Cards

AFL Members who wish to receive a physical AFL Membership card must opt-in to receive a physical AFL Membership card as part of their annual membership renewal.

There is a $5 fee for an AFL Member who wishes to hold a physical membership card, noting all AFL members have access to a digital pass. All renewing members that held a physical membership card in 2025 will be automatically opted into receiving and paying for a physical membership card in 2026. This charge will be listed on their renewal notice along with instructions on how to opt out. Members will need to opt-out of the physical card prior to their first membership payment if they wish to avoid the $5 fee.

10.3 Lost or Stolen Memberships Cards

An AFL Member who loses an AFL Membership card will be provided with a new card upon providing notice to the AFL and after payment of a card replacement fee of $10. Requests for replacement cards will not be accepted after 12 July 2026.

11. Transferability

AFL Membership cards (both physical and digital) and associated benefits of AFL membership (for example, reserved seat tickets to Premiership Season and Finals Series matches) are for personal use only and may not be transferred to another person under any circumstances.

Lending an AFL Membership card, or in any other way transferring AFL Membership benefits to another person is a breach of these Terms and Conditions. Penalties may apply (including downgrading or cancellation of an AFL Membership).

Regular ID checks will be carried out at AFL Venues, and online sale website searches will be conducted to detect any breaches of this condition. The AFL Membership card remains the property of the AFL at all times.

12. No Resale

AFL Memberships, AFL Members Area tickets and Guest Passes may not, without the prior written consent of the AFL, be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer.

If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. Further penalties may apply, including cancellation of an AFL Membership without a refund.

Scalping warning: The resale of tickets in certain circumstances is governed by ticket sales legislation and may attract criminal penalties. The AFL Grand Final is a Declared Event under the provisions of the Major Events Act 2009 (Vic), a breach of which may be an indictable offence and allows your ticket to be cancelled.

13. Verification of Identity

At any time, the AFL may request an AFL Membership ticket holder to provide photo identification to verify their identity as set out in the AFL Member’s original Membership application form. Refusal to provide sufficient evidence to the satisfaction of the AFL may result in the associated AFL Membership being cancelled.

14. Cancellation Policy

14.1 Refunds: Subject to these Terms and Conditions, AFL Memberships are non-refundable. Requests for refunds may be made in writing and, to the extent possible under law, are at the sole discretion of the AFL Membership Manager. Requests for refunds will not be considered after 31 March 2026.

14.2 Financial Hardship: As a general policy, the AFL does not provide refunds for a change in personal circumstances. However, where an AFL Member is experiencing financial hardship as a result of a change in personal circumstances, the AFL Member may apply for financial relief in accordance with the AFL Membership Hardship Policy set out in Clause 14 of these Terms and Conditions.

14.3 Cancellation: The AFL reserves its right to cancel an AFL Membership without a refund where the member is deemed by the AFL to have breached any of these Terms and Conditions (including where that member attempts to transfer or sell their AFL Membership and/or associated benefits).

14.4 No liability for losses: The AFL will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses as a result of the cancellation, rescheduling or relocation of matches during the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, including losses in relation to accommodation and flights.

15. AFL Member Hardship Policy

An AFL Member who has experienced a change in personal circumstances, which has resulted in them experiencing financial difficulty, may qualify for financial relief.

In such circumstances, we invite AFL Members to contact the AFL’s Membership Service Centre on 1300 722 515 to discuss their options and/or to submit an application for financial relief with respect to their AFL Membership at membership@afl.com.au. All applications for financial relief will be reviewed by the AFL Membership Manager and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

AFL Members may be requested to provide supporting documentation for any financial relief application.

All applications made for financial relief, including any supporting documentation provided, will be treated as confidential by the AFL.

16. Variation to AFL Membership Terms and Conditions

The AFL may from time to time where reasonably necessary vary the Terms and Conditions. The AFL will communicate any change to these Terms and Conditions via membership.afl.com.au. Members will have no claim against the AFL for any change made to these Terms and Conditions.

17. AFL Member Code of Conduct

Barracking and supporting your club is a vital part of the game, however offensive or aggressive behaviour (including yelling and swearing when interacting with AFL staff, agents or event staff) will not be tolerated. AFL Members who consume alcohol at an AFL Venue are to do so responsibly.

The AFL has a strong stance on vilification and has a zero-tolerance for AFL Members or supporters who engage in conduct which may reasonably be considered to incite hatred towards, contempt for, ridicule of or discrimination against a person or group of persons (including the opposition, opposition supporters, or umpires) on the ground of their race, religion, gender, colour, sexual preference, orientation or identity, or special ability or disability, will have their AFL Membership being cancelled

AFL Members are expected to uphold the AFL Member Code of Conduct set out in this Clause 17 at all times and in all forums, including but not limited to face-to-face interactions on match days or via phone, email and on social media. Penalties may apply to AFL Members who breach the AFL Member Code of Conduct as set out in this clause 17 including cancellation of their AFL Membership without refund.

18. Dress and Conduct Standards

18.1 Dress Standards: Dining rooms in the AFL Members Area at the MCG and Marvel Stadium maintain dress standards. The dress standard is neat casual - thongs, shorts and singlets are not permitted. Appropriate attire is also required in all seating areas. AFL Members and any Guests who are not dressed appropriately may be denied entry.

18.2 Entertainment Event Conduct: As part of their AFL Membership entitlements, AFL Members are provided with access to purchase exclusive event packages, including in-stadium dining or hospitality events. AFL Members must comply with all applicable terms and conditions governing attendance at such events, including any additional dress code or code of conduct requirements. A failure by an AFL Member to comply with those requirements constitutes a breach of these AFL Membership Terms and Conditions and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of Membership.

19. No Voting Rights

AFL Membership does not grant AFL Members any voting rights.

20. Members' Privacy

All personal information will be used and may be disclosed, by the AFL (including for promotional and marketing purposes) in accordance with the AFL Privacy Policy available at www.afl.com.au/privacy. When issuing offers for new Gold Memberships, priority will be given to Silver Members based on their period of time spent on the waitlist.

Gold Members must renew their membership prior to 31 May 2026 to maintain their Gold Membership entitlements for the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. Due to limited availability of Gold Memberships, Gold Members who do not renew their AFL Membership as ‘Gold Members’ will:

Any additional Juniors will be provided with a complimentary AFL Membership upon payment of the new AFL Member fee if joining AFL Membership in 2026. No more than four Juniors can be linked to one family for the purposes of this discount. When renewing an AFL Country Concession, an AFL Gold Member will be required to verify their place of residence prior to each renewal period by submitting proof of residency with their renewal application.

AFL Members who have a PO Box address linked to their AFL Country Concession must provide proof of residency before 31 May 2026, failing which the AFL Member will be automatically charged the full AFL Membership fee.

21.10 Absentee Membership: An AFL Absentee Membership allows you to place your AFL Membership on hold, while your AFL Membership is maintained. From 2025 onwards, an AFL Absentee Membership is only available for a maximum of one (1) year for the duration that the membership is held (any previous years of Absentee Membership will not be counted towards this limit). For example, if you hold an Absentee Membership for the 2025 season, you must reinstate your full AFL Membership for the 2026 Membership period to maintain your AFL Membership. You will also not be eligible to apply for an Absentee Membership again.

All Absentee Members will be reinstated to their previous full AFL Membership for the 2026 Membership period at the renewal rollover date, unless the AFL is otherwise notified by the Absentee Member. The renewal rollover date will be separately communicated to all Absentee Members.

“1” “Access” to the Premiership Season refers to the ability for Members to participate in the prescribed AFL Members ticket sale process, where if successful, their AFL Membership barcode will allow them to purchase tickets, and in most cases during the Premiership Season, access to attend matches (whether through reserving tickets in advance or by walk-up entry on the day). However, the AFL cannot guarantee access to any Premiership Season match, given that the AFL Members Area allocation may become exhausted during the ticket sale process. Match access is ultimately subject to availability, venue capacity, and demand. Accordingly, the AFL recommends that Members reserve a seat in advance of Premiership Season matches to ensure entry, particularly for high demand matches. Further details regarding match access entitlements and reserved ticketing fees are set out in Clause 4 of these Terms and Conditions.
