The AFL has a strong stance on vilification and has a zero-tolerance for AFL Members or supporters who engage in conduct which may reasonably be considered to incite hatred towards, contempt for, ridicule of or discrimination against a person or group of persons (including the opposition, opposition supporters, or umpires) on the ground of their race, religion, gender, colour, sexual preference, orientation or identity, or special ability or disability.

AFL Members are expected to uphold the AFL Member Code of Conduct set out in this clause 17 at all times and in all forums, including on match days and on social media. 21.1 Gold Membership: Gold Membership is the highest level of AFL Membership, capped at 30,000 Members and available for purchase only to existing Gold Members. The AFL will offer Gold Membership to selected Silver Members for an upgrade to Gold Membership intermittently, with the number of offers dependent on the retention of current Gold Members. Gold Members must renew their membership prior to 31 May 2024 to maintain their Gold Membership entitlements for the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. Due to limited availability of Gold Memberships, Gold Members who do not renew their AFL Membership as ‘Gold Members’ and downgrade their membership to a Silver Membership as referred to in clause 21.2, will then join a waitlist for Gold Membership with other Silver Members and will then only be eligible to obtain Gold Membership status when those memberships become available, and upon receiving an official offer of Gold Membership from the AFL. When issuing offers for new Gold Memberships, priority will be given to Silver Members based on their period of time spent on the waitlist.

21.2 Silver Membership: Silver Membership is available to all current AFL Members and, subject to availability, members of the general public seeking to purchase Silver Membership for the first time. New Silver Memberships are subject to a once off joining fee.

21.3 Bronze Membership: Bronze Membership is available to all current AFL Members and, subject to availability, members of the general public and will include access* to up to 15 matches at the MCG and Marvel Stadium during the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season (excluding Anzac Day) plus access* to the 2024 Toyota AFL Finals Series Weeks 1 - 3 at the MCG at the Guest Pass Price, subject to availability and clause 3 of these terms and conditions.

It is the responsibility of the eligible Members to opt-in to receive the relevant AFL family discount. The AFL will not provide any amounts in return for unclaimed family discounts from any prior periods where the Member has not opted-in to receiving the AFL family discount. Any additional Juniors will be provided with a complimentary AFL Membership upon payment of the new AFL Member fee if joining AFL Membership in 2024. No more than four Juniors can be linked to one family for the purposes of this discount. The junior or student with the highest value AFL Membership type will be required to pay the annual AFL Membership fee. The AFL at its sole discretion retains its right to accept or reject requests for remuneration for unclaimed family discounts.

An AFL Junior Membership has the same benefits as an AFL Silver Membership referred to in clause 21.2, at a discounted fee. AFL Junior Members will be upgraded to an Adult classification from the calendar year that they are 17 years old at January 1 and therefore are turning 18 that calendar year.

21.6 Under 7: An Under 7 Membership is available for children under the age of 7 as at 1 January 2024. A one-off new Member fee is payable upon joining. Membership will then be complimentary until the child reaches Junior Member status (see clause 21.5).

Upon becoming an Under 7 Member, the child will be placed on the waiting list for Gold Membership and receive an annual Under 7 Membership, giving them access to reserved seating (at a cost) in the AFL Reserve at the MCG and Marvel Stadium (subject to capacity). An Under 7 Membership provides access equivalent to an AFL Silver Membership, excluding club of support entitlement.

Note: A child aged under 7 does not require an Under 7 Membership to attend and AFL match, however the child will not be able to access a seat unless there is a seat available in the AFL Reserve.

21.7 Under 3: Children aged 3 and under as at 1 January 2024 can attend a match during Weeks 1-3 of the 2024 Toyota AFL Final series at no cost with a ticketed AFL Member, however they must not occupy a reserved seat.

When first applying for AFL Country Concession, the AFL may request proof of residency (for example, a copy of your driver’s licence) to verify your address and eligibility for the AFL Country Concession.

When renewing an AFL Country Concession, an AFL Gold Member may be required to verify their place of residence prior to each renewal period by submitting proof of residency with their renewal application.

AFL Members who have a PO Box address linked to their AFL Country Concession must provide proof of residency before 31 May 2024, failing which the AFL Member will be automatically charged the full AFL Membership fee.

AFL Gold and Silver Members may obtain an AFL Absentee Membership for an annual fee of $185 (inc GST) for adults and $95 (inc GST) for AFL Juniors, upon provision of a letter or email accompanying the renewal application outlining your AFL Absentee status. AFL Gold Absentee Members are unable to reinstate their previous AFL Membership to Gold status after 31 May 2024.

21.10 Foundation Members: Foundation members will receive a $100 discount on their 2024 AFL Membership. The discount will be applied each season to all Foundation members who hold an active Silver or Gold membership.

Foundation members who hold a Bronze or Absentee membership product, will not be eligible for the discount.
