Frequently asked questions

What's included in my membership?

You can view our membership options here to learn about the inclusions for each specific package. All of our access memberships include general admission access to a set number of Toyota AFL Home & Away matches, subject to availability. This means you don’t have the same seat each week but you have more flexibility and options on game day.

Memberships also include general admission access to specified weeks of Finals matches, subject to availability. All memberships include discounted access to international cricket matches at the MCG.

Some memberships include the ability to choose a “club of support”, which allows you to financially support your club, be part of your club’s membership tally and receive a club member pack. Some also include a position on the waitlist for Silver or Gold membership.

Members have the opportunity to upgrade their ticket to a reserved seat for a fee or to purchase a dining package inclusive of a reserved seat.

How long is the wait for Gold membership and how do I apply?

As one of the best ways to access the AFL Grand Final each year, our highest tier of membership is highly sought after and is capped at 30,000 members. Due to the range of factors that influence the number of upgrades that are made each year, there is no estimated timeline as to when members can expect an invitation to upgrade to Gold. Our team will contact members when they are eligible to upgrade to this exclusive group.

As soon as you are signed up for a Silver membership, you are on the waitlist for a Gold membership. No nomination forms or application fees required. Your waitlist number will be communicated to you each year and our team will be able to provide further information on your waitlist number and what this means. For reference, members who were invited to Gold at the most recent intake in 2023 joined in 2011.

Where is the AFL Reserve?

All AFL Membership general admission areas and reserved seats are located within the AFL Reserve. The AFL Reserve spans all levels of both the MCG and Marvel Stadiums, providing unrivalled choice for each game you attend. This area is on the wing of both stadiums, in the Shane Warne stand of the MCG and on the Harbour Esplanade side of Marvel Stadium.

How do I access my membership benefits?

When you sign up to become a member, you will be provided with a digital membership through the AFL Live App. Simply show your digital membership card when you arrive at the game of your choice and walk through the gates. With no need to book in advance, your membership provides you with the utmost flexibility and ease.

Do I get a membership card?

Our membership is fully accessible through the AFL Live app – there is no need for cards. However, if you would prefer a physical membership card, our team will be happy to assist. You will need to contact us to request a physical card.

What are the dining packages available?

As an AFL Member, you have exclusive access to premium dining options at both Marvel Stadium and the MCG. All of our dining options come with a premium reserved seat as well as a delicious meal.

At the MCG, access is to the AFL Members Dining Room on Level 2, overlooking the action on the ground. Each game is classified differently, with additional benefits on offer for "Functions" and "Special Events" throughout the season. Your dining ticket comes with a reserved seat on Level N, just outside of the dining room.

At Marvel Stadium, you have two premium options to choose from. You can enjoy drinks and nibbles in the AFL Members Bar & Lounge in the Victory Room.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to a buffet experience at Feast, inclusive of a Level 2 Medallion Club seat and a view of the game from the restaurant.

Guests can purchase subject to availability, and all dining tickets must be purchased in advance.

How do I upgrade to a reserved seat?

Reserved seats can be purchased through the relevant ticketing agencies for a fee, when you want certainty or to plan your trip to the footy in advance. Ticket on-sale times occur monthly and further information is communicated to members regularly and available in the AFL Members online portal.

How do I access the cricket benefits?

Discount pricing is available for AFL Members to attend the international cricket at the MCG when the footy is over for the year. This information is communicated to members in October each year.

What are the prices of the guest passes and how many can I purchase?

Guest passes can be purchased from the relevant ticketing agencies (Ticketek or Ticketmaster) for you to bring your family and friends along to enjoy the AFL Reserve. These passes range in price, from $13 to $98, depending on the seating area and ticket type selected. The availability of guest passes is subject to availability, with information being communicated to members prior to each game going on sale.

Who is eligible for junior / student concession memberships?

Any member under the age of 17 at January 1 of the current membership is eligible for a junior membership.

Similarly, discounted memberships are available for any members studying full time at an Australian Education Institution for the duration of the membership year.

We accept a wide range of other concessions for discounts on your membership, such as disability and aged pensions. Please view section 22 of our terms and conditions here to see if your membership is eligible for a discount.

I have a valid Companion Card, what are the membership options for my carer?

We provide any member with a valid Companion Card an additional complimentary Silver adult membership without club support, so carers can attend games with you at member price.
